Transportation

Rail transportation moves commuters to work, travelers across country and goods throughout North America every day. In a changing marketplace, traditional service providers are facing competition from new companies that are disrupting the current model. AdlaiCurtis is developing a new system using emerging automation technologies that will allow for railroads to cut costs without extensive investment in expensive wayside infrastructure. Increased safety, capacity and speed are possible for passenger rail systems, including commuter, heavy and light rail operators.

Freight operators face additional competition through the rise of autonomous vehicles technology applications within the trucking industry. The system developed by AdlaiCurtis will utilize commercially available components to provide an autonomous vehicle solution for the rail transport industry that is designed to make safe operating speed decisions based off reading signs placed along the wayside, the aspects of existing signals and utilization of measurement equipment detecting the distance to the nearest train. To accomplish this we will utilize existing sensor packages and tailor these to existing equipment, with focus initially on Regional and Short Line Railroads throughout the US..

AdlaiCurtis is pursuing FRA approval for this system, and is actively working with a Regional Railroads on achieving operational status for the system.

Construction

The Construction Industry has begun to realize substantial positive impact by embracing technology in the form of newly developed software solutions. While these solutions are geared toward streamlining operations and the design process, they have not significantly changed project delivery methods or resulted in substantial change to the way construction projects are delivered. 

The AdlaiCurtis team is applying experience from multiple sectors of construction to develop a model for Project Delivery that will be able to leverage emerging technologies while streamlining the design and submittal process. Shortened project schedule, reduced cost during the Design Development and Construction Administration phases of design, and enhanced coordination are all possible, while emerging technologies can be incorporated to reduce project labor costs. Initiatives related to project delivery will be introduced in 2020.

VR/AR Based Training

As the future of work continues to evolve, there has been an increased need for education and training to evolve along with it. VR/AR based training programs have been increasingly utilized by companies as familiarity of the tech increases and costs decrease. Additionally, the recent global pandemic has put a spotlight on virtual training platforms as a way to mitigate the physical limitations of social distancing.

AdlaiCurtis can leverage the expertise we have in AI algorithms and virtual simulation engine development to create VR/AR training platforms. Our solutions are aimed at increasing remote learning capabilities to covey ideas visually and spatially, the creation of virtual simulation engines that are near lifelike representations of real world environments and reduced training costs.
